Occupational Health Advisor

Salary: £46,800 + approx. £5,000 gratuities/service charge (OTE £51,800)
Location: Perth (flexible working options available)

My client is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health Advisor to join our People Team and play a central role in safeguarding the health, wellbeing and safety of our colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced OH clinician who thrives in a varied, fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering evidence-based, person-centred occupational health services.

About the Role

As our Occupational Health Advisor, you will provide comprehensive clinical OH support across the site, including:

  • Reviewing pre-employment health questionnaires and advising on fitness to work

  • Conducting job-specific fitness assessments (e.g., drivers, food handlers, work at height)

  • Contributing to risk assessments and monitoring occupational hazards in partnership with our Risk Management team

  • Managing the Health Surveillance programme in collaboration with our OH Physician, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements

  • Providing specialist advice following OH referrals relating to sickness absence, work capability, medical conditions and injuries

  • Supporting managers in reducing absence levels and promoting early, safe and sustainable return to work

  • Coordinating onward referrals to GPs, physiotherapy, mental health services, CBT, our EAP and other relevant providers

  • Managing Display Screen Equipment (DSE) training, assessments and follow-ups

  • Leading and supporting health promotion initiatives and contributing to the Health & Wellbeing Strategy

  • Supporting the Healthy Working Lives programme and associated accreditation

  • Providing first-aid support where required and overseeing AEDs and first-aid supplies

  • Maintaining accurate clinical records, reporting OH trends and contributing to policy review

  • Inputting OH cost projections as part of the annual budgeting process

About You

We’re looking for an OH professional who brings:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) status with an Occupational Health qualification and NMC Part 3 registration

  • Significant experience delivering Occupational Health services in a corporate, clinical or multi‑disciplinary environment

  • Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and Occupational Health law, including practical application

  • Ideally, experience supporting mental health and familiarity with A&E procedures

  • A strong patient‑centred approach, excellent clinical judgement and a commitment to evidence‑based practice

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with colleagues at all levels

  • Confidence working autonomously as well as part of a wider people‑focused team

  • A proactive, organised and compassionate approach to supporting colleague wellbeing
