Job summary

Dawley Brook Primary School's Oak Tree SEND Unit is seeking an L3 SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis (32.5 hours per week) during term time only.

The successful candidate will support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans, work under the direction of teaching staff, and contribute to an inclusive environment. DBS clearance and right to work in the UK are required.

• Experience as an L3 SEND Teaching Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans under the direction of the class teacher.
• Assist in implementing behaviour and safeguarding policies and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
• Prepare learning activities and resources to support students’ individual needs.
• Collaborate with the SEND team to monitor pupil progress and provide feedback.

Oak Tree SEND Unit is a Local Authority-commissioned specialist provision for children with Education, Health and Care Plans identifying communication and interaction as their primary need. Oak Tree operates as an integral part of our inclusive school community: The highly inclusive culture is one of the standout features of Dawley Brook. Pupils who have struggled elsewhere thrive here (Ofsted March 2024).

We have had extensive Local Authority capital investment in our Oak Tree SEND Unit this summer, commissioning additional places and by January 2027, we will have 24 learners.

This is an exciting time to be joining our school and the successful applicant will be helping to shape our extended SEND provision within its new premises, working with an experienced team of staff.
