Supply Desk is seeking a passionate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Hampshire (Havant). You will provide targeted support to pupils across the primary phase, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build confidence.

The role suits an experienced LSA/Teaching Assistant or someone with SEND/SEMH experience. You will work with individuals or small groups, adapt activities, liaise with teachers and parents, and contribute to monitoring pupil progress.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a primary school or similar setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Experience working across different primary year groups, including Early Years, would be advantageous.
  • GCSE English and/or Maths at Grade C/4 or above is desirable.
  • A patient, positive and nurturing approach to supporting children.
  • Genuine passion for helping pupils with diverse learning needs achieve their potential.
  • Ability to remain calm, consistent and positive in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of learning needs.
  • Support children with SEND and/or SEMH needs to access learning and participate fully in school life.
  • Work alongside class teachers and the wider school team to support pupil progress.
  • Deliver and support individual learning programmes and interventions.
  • Adapt activities and resources to suit individual children's needs and abilities.
  • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Support children's social, emotional and behavioural development.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Contribute to monitoring and recording pupils' progress.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, Senior Leaders and other professionals.
  • Liaise with external agencies where appropriate to support children's needs.
  • Be flexible and prepared to work across both infant and junior settings when required.
