Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Bournemouth. The role offers small class sizes and the opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils while supporting academic and personal growth.

The ideal candidate holds QTS, has primary teaching experience, and is patient, adaptable and resilient. Training in SEMH/trauma-informed practice is desirable with professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • QTS is required to teach in primary settings.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school environment.
  • Patience, adaptability and resilience are essential.
  • A good understanding of SEMH needs is desirable; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
  • Majority of teaching will be with Key Stage 2 pupils; adapt for lower academic levels.
  • Be willing to provide cover within Key Stage 1 classes when required.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where pupils can thrive.
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and senior leaders.
  • Promote positive behaviour through relationship-based approaches and consistent routines.
