Job summary

Tommies Childcare Limited is seeking dedicated Nursery Practitioners to provide a safe, nurturing environment and support early development for children aged 0–5. You will plan activities, supervise play and meals, and maintain records while upholding high safety standards.

You will work with families and colleagues to promote learning through play and ensure wellbeing. DBS checks and ongoing training are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a nursery or early childhood education setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to children’s developmental stages.
• Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes and rest periods.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and daily routines.
• Organise daily routines including arrival and departure procedures.
• Support colleagues in managing behavioural issues using appropriate strategies.
• Contribute to nursery events and activities that promote socialisation and learning.
• Assist with administrative childcare documentation as required.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
