Job summary

Tommie’s Childcare in the East Midlands is seeking dedicated Nursery Practitioners to join our caring team. You will support early development for children aged 0–5, delivering engaging activities and keeping EYFS standards at the heart of daily routines.

We offer permanent contracts, 27–40 hours weekly, 51 weeks per year, varied shifts (730am–6pm, Mon–Fri), and a comprehensive benefits package including leave, childcare discounts, pension, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children in nursery/early years.
• Strong understanding of child development principles.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Experience organizing play-based learning activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to developmental stages.
• Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes and rest periods, ensuring safety.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues through effective communication.
• Maintain records of children’s progress and daily routines.
• Oversee daily routines including arrival and departure procedures.
• Support colleagues in managing behavioural issues using appropriate strategies.
• Assist with childcare documentation and administrative tasks.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the nursery environment.
