Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Nurture Teacher for a supportive SEND school in Sittingbourne. You will deliver differentiated lessons, helping pupils develop socially, emotionally, and academically in a safe, nurturing environment.

The ideal candidate holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent, has SEND experience, and excels in behaviour management with a trauma-informed approach. You will collaborate with TAs, therapists and leaders to support vulnerable learners and enable progress.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
• Experience working with SEND, ASC, SEMH, ADHD, or related needs.
• Nurturing, trauma-informed approach to teaching.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support.
• Patient, resilient and passionate about vulnerable learners.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing.
• Develop positive relationships with pupils, families, and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and social skills.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and nurture principles throughout the school day.
• Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where required.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and senior leaders.
