Job summary

Prospero Teaching is helping a SEND school in Croydon recruit a Nurture Teacher. You will plan engaging lessons, create an inclusive learning environment, and support pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and complex needs. A nurturing, trauma-informed approach is essential.

You will work with teaching assistants and therapists to monitor progress, build relationships with families, and promote emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience in SEND, Alternative Provision, specialist settings, or mainstream with additional needs.
• Nurturing and trauma-informed approach to teaching.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
• Patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
• Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment promoting emotional wellbeing.
• Develop positive relationships with pupils, families, and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and social skills.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and nurture principles throughout the day.
• Monitor and track pupil progress and adapt teaching approaches as needed.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and senior leaders.
