Job summary

JEM Childcare Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Nursery Manager in Hitchin to lead a well-established setting. You will drive high standards of care and education, supporting staff, families, and children across daily operations.

Ideal candidates show a strong EYFS background, have managed nursery teams and budgets, and are capable of guiding Ofsted readiness while delivering outstanding outcomes for children.

Qualifications

• Level 3+ Early Years / Childcare qualification.
• 4+ years’ experience in early years, including 2 years in a management or team-leading role.
• Experience leading or supporting Ofsted inspections.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety practices.
• Experience managing nursery teams, occupancy, and budgets.
• Deliver high-quality care and learning while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the nursery to maintain high standards of care and education.
• Oversee daily operations, occupancy, and budget management.
• Prepare for Ofsted inspections and support staff through quality improvements.
• Develop and mentor team to deliver outstanding outcomes for children.

• Level 3 or above Early Years / Childcare qualification (full and relevant)
