Job summary

JEM Childcare Solutions Limited is partnering with a well-established nursery in Hitchin to appoint an experienced Nursery Manager. The role focuses on leading the setting and supporting staff to deliver high-quality early years education.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure EYFS compliance, and support Ofsted readiness, staff development, occupancy, and budget management. A 40-hour week with a salary around £45k plus benefits is offered along with future progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 or above Early Years / Childcare qualification.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in early years, including 2 years in a management or team-leading role.
• Experience leading or supporting Ofsted inspections.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety practices.
• Experience managing nursery teams, occupancy, and budgets.
• Deliver high-quality care and learning while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily nursery operations to ensure high standards of care and education.
• Support staff across the nursery and drive improvements in practice.
