Job summary

Complete Childcare Ltd’s Stepping Stones Day Nursery and Pre-school in Finchampstead is seeking a Deputy Nursery Manager. The role leads daily operations, supports the Nursery Manager, and drives high-quality childcare in line with EYFS.

The ideal candidate will have Level 3 EYFS, strong leadership and safeguarding experience, and a passion for staff development and child-centred learning within a nurturing team.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification required
• Strong knowledge of EYFS framework and safeguarding practices
• Experience in a senior practitioner, room leader or leadership role
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
• Commitment to high-quality childcare and education
• Strong safeguarding commitment to welfare of children

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in day-to-day running of the nursery
• Lead and support staff to deliver high-quality care and education
• Ensure the nursery operates in line with EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements
• Support staff development through mentoring and role modelling good practice
• Build strong relationships with children, families and the wider community
• Monitor children's learning and development to ensure high-quality practice
• Step into the Manager role when required to ensure smooth nursery operations

Job description

Location: Stepping Stones Day Nursery and Pre-school, Finchampstead

Salary: £32,853.60

Hours: 45 per week over 5 days

Your Main Role and Responsibilities

As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will:

• Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery
• Lead and support staff to deliver high-quality care and education
• Ensure the nursery operates in line with the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements
• Support staff development through guidance, mentoring and role modelling good practice
• Build strong relationships with children, families and the wider community
• Support the monitoring of children’s learning and development to ensure high-quality practice
• Step into the Manager role when required to ensure smooth nursery operations

What We Are Looking For

• Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices
• Previous experience in a senior practitioner, room leader or leadership role
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
• Commitment to delivering high-quality childcare and education
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
