Job summary

Toad Hall Nursery Group in Watford is seeking an Assistant Nursery Manager to join our vibrant team. You will work alongside the Nursery Manager to lead high-quality care, support staff development, and help promote occupancy in our Watford nursery.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 childcare qualification with DBS, plus a higher qualification or leadership experience. We value EYFS expertise and a collaborative, safeguarding-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification with a DBS check.
• Higher childcare qualification or management/leadership qualification preferred.
• Experience with safeguarding, Ofsted, and EYFS compliance is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality and regulatory compliance across the setting.
• Inspire and support the team, guiding staff across daily practice and wellbeing.
• Manage budgets, occupancy, and staffing in collaboration with the Nursery Manager.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Lead Quality and Compliance: Ensure the nursery meets all Ofsted, EYFS, and legislative requirements through high-quality practice, regular audits, and hands-on support in rooms.

• Inspire and Support the Team: Engage actively with children's learning and development while guiding, developing, and supporting staff across all areas - from daily practice to performance and wellbeing.

• Drive Success and Growth: Work closely with the Nursery Manager to manage budgets, occupancy, and staffing, contributing to a thriving, high-quality setting for children and families.
