Job summary

Toad Hall Nursery Group is seeking an inspiring Assistant Nursery Manager for their nursery in Ottershaw. This 12-month maternity cover position requires a full Level 3 qualification and relevant experience in childcare. You will support the Nursery Manager, ensuring high-quality education and compliance with regulations while fostering team development. Assistant Nursery Manager (Maternity Cover – 12‑month contract)

Salary: up to £35,339

Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you’ll help lead the team, ensure the highest quality of care and education, and play a key role in promoting the nursery and managing occupancy. Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Lead Quality and Compliance: Ensure the nursery meets all Ofsted, EYFS and legislative requirements through high‑quality practice, regular audits and hands‑on support in rooms.
• Inspire and Support the Team: Engage actively with children’s learning and development while guiding, developing and supporting staff across all areas – from daily practice to performance and wellbeing.
• Drive Success and Growth: Work closely with the Nursery Manager to manage budgets, occupancy and staffing, contributing to a thriving, high‑quality setting for children and families.

Located on Brox Road in Chertsey, our nursery is easily accessible from the M25 and set in a charming, historic former schoolhouse, providing a warm, inviting environment. Our spacious garden encourages sensory and exploratory play, fostering curiosity and creativity.
