Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting enthusiastic Level 2 or Level 3 Nursery Practitioners to join a network of nurseries across TQ12, Newton Abbot, Torquay and surrounding areas. Immediate start available for flexible day-to-day, short-term and long-term placements.

You will support learning through play, help with daily routines, and work across different settings with a dedicated consultant, ensuring a supportive experience for children and parents.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare/EY qualification is required.
• Experience in nursery/ EY setting preferred.
• Paediatric First Aid is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning through play-based activities.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
• Assist with daily routines including meals, outdoor play and personal care.
• Encourage independence, confidence and communication.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and nursery teams.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and EYFS guidelines.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated

Level 2 and Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioners to join our growing team, with opportunities available for an

immediate start.

Whether you're looking for occasional shifts, regular weekly work or longer-term placements, we have opportunities to suit your availability.

The successful Nursery Practitioner will have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years
• Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting
• Ability to drive and reliably commute to nursery settings across TQ12 and surrounding areas
• Good knowledge of the EYFS framework
• A caring, enthusiastic and positive approach to working with children
• Confidence supporting children from babies through to preschool age
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to adapt to different nursery environments
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (desirable but not essential)

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children's learning and development through creative, play-based activities
• Creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment
• Assisting with daily routines, including mealtimes, outdoor play and personal care
• Encouraging children's independence, confidence and communication skills
• Building positive relationships with children, parents and nursery teams
• Following safeguarding procedures and EYFS guidelines
• Working collaboratively with nursery staff to provide high-quality childcare
