Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking enthusiastic Nursery Practitioners with Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications to work across Exeter and surrounding areas. The role involves flexible shifts, with day-to-day, short-term and long-term placements available, on-site at various nurseries.

The successful candidate will travel to nurseries around Exeter, support early years development, and operate within EYFS safeguarding guidelines. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare / Early Years.
• Previous nursery or Early Years experience.
• Ability to drive to nurseries across Exeter and surrounds.
• Knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding procedures.
• Confident with children across ages from babies to preschool.
• Flexible and adaptable to different nursery environments.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning and development through play-based activities.
• Create a safe, stimulating environment for children.
• Assist with daily nursery routines, including meals, outdoor play and personal care.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and nursery teams.
• Encourage independence, communication and social development.
• Follow safeguarding policies and EYFS guidelines.

Contract: Flexible / Day-to-Day / Short-Term / Long-Term

Location: Exeter, Devon

Pay: £14.25 – £16.00 per hour

Working pattern: On-site

Hours: Full-time

Level 2 and Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioners to join our growing team, with opportunities available for an

immediate start.

The successful Nursery Practitioner will have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years
• Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting
• Ability to drive and reliably commute to nursery settings across Exeter and surrounding areas
• A positive, caring and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children
• Good knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures
• Confidence supporting children across different age groups, from babies to preschool
• Flexibility and adaptability when working in different nursery environments
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (desirable but not essential)

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children's learning and development through play-based activities
• Creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment
• Assisting with daily nursery routines, including mealtimes, outdoor play and personal care
• Building positive relationships with children, parents and nursery teams
• Encouraging children's independence, communication and social development
• Following safeguarding policies and EYFS guidelines
