Job summary

Maximus is recruiting a Nurse Functional Assessor in the United Kingdom to conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments and produce Work Capability Assessment reports for the Department for Work and Pensions. You will work with complex physical and mental health cases, supported by training, mentorship, and ongoing development.

The role combines clinical expertise with compassionate, client-focused service in a flexible, full-time or hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registration required for the role.
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience.
• Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship supported.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects daily life.
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports for the DWP to determine eligibility for benefits.
• Develop clinical knowledge and assessment skills with supervision and feedback.
