Job summary

Maximus in the United Kingdom is seeking a Nurse Functional Assessor to apply clinical expertise to assess how a disability or health condition affects daily life. You will conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments on complex physical and mental health cases, producing Work Capability Assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions.

The role includes a six-week training programme, ongoing support, and flexible working options (full time, part time, and hybrid).

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registration
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports to help the DWP determine a person's eligibility for benefits
• Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with the support of regular feedback and supervision
