Job summary

SJB Medical in Reading is recruiting a Nurse Functional Assessor to assess health conditions for benefit applications. The role offers regular hours, no shift work, a full‑time pattern, and an attractive salary with bonus opportunities.

You will conduct functional assessments, draft clear reports, and work within a multidisciplinary team. A registered healthcare professional with at least 12 months post‑registration experience is required.

Qualifications

• Be a registered healthcare professional (Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist).
• Have at least 12 months post-registration experience within the last 5 years.
• Demonstrate strong communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
• No current restrictions to practice.

Additional pay & bonuses:

• Guaranteed £2,000 salary uplift within your first year (subject to approval milestones and contract)


• One‑off approval bonus of 5% of salary


• Up to 10% annual performance bonus based on quality and performance

Working pattern:
Full‑time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
Part‑time hours available

About the role

As a Functional Assessor, you’ll use your clinical expertise in a new and rewarding way, carrying out functional assessments that support individuals applying for health‑related benefits. This role allows you to apply your clinical judgement while enjoying regular working hours, no night shifts, and no weekend work.

You’ll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based assessments. Based at one of our UK centres, you’ll benefit from a structured working environment, comprehensive training, and clear career development pathways.

What you’ll need

To apply, you must:
