Job summary

SJB Medical is seeking a Functional Assessor to join our healthcare recruitment and clinical support team in Farnborough. You will apply clinical expertise to perform functional assessments and produce high-quality reports to support health-related benefit applications.

The role offers regular hours (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday) with no night shifts or weekend work, along with a structured training pathway and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional with current registration
• At least 12 months post-registration experience within the last 5 years
• No current restrictions to practice
• Strong communication, assessment and report-writing skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional assessments and produce clear, accurate, high-quality reports
• Use clinical judgement to assess a wide range of physical and mental health conditions
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate records in line with clinical governance and quality standards
• Engage in ongoing training, CPD, and clinical supervision
• Deliver assessments with empathy, professionalism, and integrity

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Location: Farnborough

Additional pay & bonuses:

• Guaranteed £2,000 salary uplift within your first year (subject to approval milestones and contract)
• One‑off approval bonus of 5% of salary
• Up to 10% annual performance bonus based on quality and performance

Working pattern:

Full‑time, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

About the role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise in a new and rewarding way, carrying out functional assessments that support individuals applying for health‑related benefits. This role allows you to apply your clinical judgement while enjoying regular working hours, no night shifts, and no weekend work.

You'll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based assessments. Based at one of our UK centres, you'll benefit from a structured working environment, comprehensive training, and clear career development pathways.
