Job summary

SJB Medical in the United Kingdom (Luton) is seeking a Nurse Functional Assessor to carry out functional assessments supporting health-related benefits. The role offers a stable 9am–5pm, Monday–Friday schedule with no night shifts, and the opportunity to apply clinical judgement in a supportive, multidisciplinary setting.

You’ll be part of a team delivering high-quality, evidence-based assessments at one of our UK centres, with comprehensive training, CPD, and clear career development pathways.

Qualifications

• Be a registered healthcare professional (Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic, or Pharmacist).
• Has at least 12 months’ post-registration experience within the last 5 years.
• No current restrictions to practice.

• Conduct functional assessments and produce clear, accurate, high‑quality reports
• Use clinical judgement to assess a wide range of physical and mental health conditions
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals

Salary: GBP40000 - GBP50000 per annum + + approval bonus & benefits

Location: Luton

Additional pay & bonuses:

• Guaranteed £2,000 salary uplift within your first year (subject to approval milestones and contract)
• One‑off approval bonus of 5% of salary
• Up to 10% annual performance bonus based on quality and performance

Working pattern:
Full‑time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

About the role

As a Functional Assessor, you’ll use your clinical expertise in a new and rewarding way, carrying out functional assessments that support individuals applying for health‑related benefits. This role allows you to apply your clinical judgement while enjoying regular working hours, no night shifts, and no weekend work.

What you’ll need

To apply, you must:

• Demonstrate strong communication, assessment, and report‑writing skills
