Job summary

The Headington Care Home Care Home is seeking Registered Nurses with a valid NMC pin to join its warm, purpose-built facility delivering 24-hour care for older adults. You will lead the care team, maintain clear communications, monitor residents, and ensure medicines are administered safely in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin.
• Experience in elder care or nursing homes.
• Strong communication and report-writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Achieve a high standard of care.
• Lead the care team to deliver outcomes for residents.
• Maintain effective verbal and written communications and accurate reporting.
• Wound management.
• Administer and record medicines according to policy and statutory requirements.
• Provide personal care, physical, emotional and spiritual support.
• Carry out staff supervision and appraisals.
• Implement changes in routine and procedures with the Manager.
• Assess residents and complete duty rosta as needed.
• Participate in internal quality audits and staff training.

What does the role involve?

• Achieve a high standard of care.
• Leading the care team to deliver outcomes for the people that we support
• Maintain effective communications, both verbal and written, making accurate reports on residents and inform other members of the senior care team of day to day changes.
• Wound management
• Ensure that care procedures are carried out according to policy.
• Be responsible for the ordering, administration and recording of medicines according to policy and statutory requirements.
• Provide appropriate personal care for residents e.g., washing and dressing and toileting.
• Provide physical, emotional and spiritual comfort.
• Carry out Staff Supervision and Appraisals with Team/Unit allocated.
• Implement changes in routine and/or procedures as agreed with the Manager.
• Assessment of perspective clients/residents.
• Completion of the duty rota as necessary.
• Carry out Internal Quality Audits as agreed with the Manager.
• Participate fully in the training and development of all grades of staff.
• Assist Manager to work within agreed budgets – Mainly Deputy Manager responsibilities
