EDF is seeking a Mechanical Calculation Engineer to support the Hinkley Point C project in the UK. You will contribute to mechanical calculations, analyses, and design decisions on site, while working in a hybrid arrangement with 3–4 days on site.

The role focuses on safe, low‑carbon energy delivery and exposure to a major European nuclear programme. Ideal candidates have a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, experience with EUROCODE/ASME/RCC-M and tools like PIPESTRESS, RSTAB or ANSYS, plus

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical calculations in nuclear or similar environment.
• Knowledge of Eurocode, ASME and RCC-M.
• Experience using 2D/3D design and calculation software.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical stress calculations and piping flexibility assessments.
• Produce technical calculations, reports and installation documentation.
• Respond to site queries, RFIs and NCRs with engineering responses.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, HVAC and installation teams to resolve issues.
• Verify compliance with nuclear codes and project requirements.
