EDF Energy is seeking a JDO Piping Design Engineer to support field design activities for the Hinkley Point C project. You will provide expert piping design input, perform mechanical calculations, and work with CAD teams to deliver safe, code-compliant solutions.

The role is hybrid with 3–4 days per week on the Hinkley Point C site, offering a starting salary of £57,000 per year and potential for an annual bonus as part of a market-leading package.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum three years of post-graduate experience in mechanical calculations or nuclear engineering.
• Experience with EUROCODE, ASME and RCC-M codes.
• Proficient in 2D and 3D design and calculation software.
• Skilled in piping and support calculations and working in diverse teams.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical assessments for piping design during site installation.
• Resolve design queries related to piping, supports and anchorages.
• Perform piping flexibility, support calculations and finite element analysis.
• Collaborate with CAD designers and multidisciplinary teams on design docs.
• Ensure solutions meet quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
