Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director, Capture Management Lead – Nuclear to drive strategic growth in the UK nuclear sector. You will lead enterprise-level pursuits, coordinate cross-functional teams, and shape capture and client-positioning strategies across regional and global lines.

You will report to the Nuclear Sector Director and will require strong leadership, stakeholder management, and a proven track record in major bid management within infrastructure. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

  • Experience in capture management within engineering or major infrastructure sectors.
  • Good understanding of the UK nuclear market, including clients, procurement routes and programme delivery models.
  • Experience coordinating complex pursuits involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of capture planning, opportunity qualification, competitive positioning and bid management best practice.
  • Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise critical pursuits (ECP / Tier 2) as the Capture Lead, owning the pursuit strategy from identification through to submission.
  • Direct discovery, pre-positioning, differentiation, and delivery strategies for major transformative programmes including new business opportunities and renewal/extension of existing strategic opportunities.
  • Own pursuit governance, bid budgets, winning pursuit team composition and partnering/supply chain selection.
  • Lead holistic capture strategy development, including client listening, win strategy, solution development, marcomms planning, bid planning and review through to debrief and lessons learnt.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships to identify bespoke needs, leveraging proactive engagement to inform and validate solutions.
  • Analyse competitive landscapes, leveraging insights from recent wins and losses to refine strategies.
  • Help to build and maintain a diversified pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with global and regional leaders to develop and execute growth plans aligned with AECOM’s priorities.
  • Partner with Client Account Managers and Market Sector Leaders to deliver capture outcomes that align with client expectations.
  • Partner with bid, marketing, technical, operations and commercial teams to prepare Capture Plans for complex proposals.
  • Drive cultural change to adopt positioning and pursuit playbooks and roll out training across Energy.
  • Facilitate pursuit strategy meetings and provide guidance for client engagement and interview teams.
  • Promote collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to achieve success.
  • Guide technical writers to develop dynamic, compliant content for proposals.
  • Ensure partnership between technical, marketing and bidding staff for proposal best practices.
