Job summary

AECOM in Manchester is seeking a Technical Director of Architecture for Nuclear Facilities to lead complex, multidisciplinary design delivery across civil and defence projects.

You will drive design excellence, mentor teams, ensure Safety in Design, manage resources and budgets, and engage clients and stakeholders to secure successful outcomes.

This role requires ARB registration and a track record in regulated environments, with hybrid working options in the UK.

Qualifications

• ARB registration is mandatory for this position.
• Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution is required.
• Experience leading architectural delivery in Nuclear or other highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects in the Nuclear sector.
• Provide input at early design stages and lead through project lifecycles.
• Ensure Safety in Design principles are embedded across all stages.
• Oversee materials selection, building systems, and the production of specifications.
• Lead and mentor architectural teams within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Manage client relationships, bid support, and thought leadership.
