Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe seeks an Associate Director to lead nuclear safety consultancy, combining deep technical expertise with strategic leadership across defence, decommissioning and energy projects. You will own safety case delivery, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure outputs meet regulatory and quality standards.

This role offers a hybrid working model across Warrington, West Cumbria and Basingstoke, with potential full-remote arrangements.

Qualifications

You will hold a degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
Significant nuclear sector experience including leadership of complex safety case projects.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, understanding nuclear operations and applying regulatory frameworks is essential.
Chartered status, or progression towards it, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Safety Case Delivery: lead development and assurance of complex safety cases, identify hazards, apply risk assessment, ensure regulatory compliance and produce clear documentation.
Diverse Project Portfolio: manage a broad portfolio from short-term studies to long-term safety projects with high delivery standards.
Regulator and Client Engagement: represent projects at senior levels with clients and regulators, build trust and drive successful outcomes.
Reviewing and Writing Technical Reports: develop and assure comprehensive technical documentation including safety cases and analyses.
Mentoring and Line Management: develop people, coach teams, guide project delivery and support career growth.
