Job summary

SMUK is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to take ownership of the North West territory within the commercial fleet safety sector. You will identify opportunities, nurture relationships with fleet operators and drive the sales cycle from initial contact to order, coordinating with internal teams to deliver Total Fleet Solutions.

The role is field-based with regular travel, offering a competitive basic salary, uncapped commission and a company car, plus private healthcare,

Qualifications

• Proven track record in B2B business development, field sales or solution-based sales.
• Experience identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities.
• A consultative approach to selling, with the ability to understand a customer's requirements and develop an appropriate solution.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial confidence and the ability to negotiate effectively.
• Ability to engage credibly with customers and decision-makers at different levels.
• Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to manage a regional territory.
• Good pipeline management, CRM discipline and forecasting skills.
• Collaborative, team-focused approach and willingness to share knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities with North West fleet operators.
• Build relationships with Fleet Managers and key decision-makers.
• Take opportunities from initial conversation to quotation and order.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver viable solutions.
• Maintain a strong, accurate sales pipeline in CRM.
• Provide realistic sales forecasts and meet targets.
