Job summary

SMUK, a Midlands-based specialist in commercial fleet safety systems, is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to own the Midlands territory. You will build a strong pipeline, develop new business with fleet operators, and manage opportunities from initial contact through to order, while collaborating with Sales, Projects, Engineering and Operations teams.

You will represent SMUK at meetings, events and exhibitions, and travel within the region to grow customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in B2B business development.
• Experience identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities.
• Consultative selling approach to meet customer requirements.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the Midlands.
• Build relationships with Fleet Managers, Transport Managers, dealers and other decision-makers.
• Take a consultative approach to understanding customer requirements (fleet, safety, compliance).
• Promote SMUK capabilities to deliver a Total Fleet Solution.
• Develop opportunities from initial engagement through to quotation and order.
• Maintain a strong CRM-driven sales pipeline and accurate forecasts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure viable, delivered solutions.
• Occasional travel within the Midlands and UK for meetings and events.
