Job summary

WSP is seeking a senior leader to shape engagement delivery for major UK infrastructure projects. You will lead a regional team, build client relationships, and ensure high-quality stakeholder engagement across water, transport, energy and environmental sectors.

Based in the North with a regular presence in Manchester, you will mentor engagement specialists, drive delivery excellence, and contribute to business development efforts while aligning with governance and planning requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading consultation and engagement on large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Degree qualified or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Membership of a relevant professional or trade body (desirable).
• Experience across road, rail, utilities, water, environment or energy sectors.

Responsibilities

• Advise teams on engagement strategies for complex infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with planning legislation, including DCO requirements and the Planning and Infrastructure Act (2025).
• Embed global best practice in communications, consultation and engagement.
• Plan and deliver stakeholder communications and consultations.
• Lead and coach engagement teams across major projects.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate engagement into delivery.
• Develop and mentor engagement specialists; manage performance.
• Drive regional growth, with a presence in the Manchester office.
