JOB DESCRIPTION

NOC Engineer (Network Operation Centre)

Telent is seeking a NOC Engineer to join our Network Operations Centre team at our Camberley (Surrey) office. If you have an interest in Network Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and Fixing, and want to develop your career, this role is for you.

The position supports a 24/7 Network Operations Centre, primarily on a Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours/week day shift schedule. The role is office-based with potential to work from home one day per week.

The ideal candidate will work within a team that embodies Telent's core values: Be Inclusive, Be Customer Focused, Be Collaborative, and Taking Responsibility. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and fix mission-critical networks for clients across Public Services, Emergency Services, and Enterprise sectors. An interest in emerging technologies, especially in Network & Security, is desirable.

NOC Engineer - Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical support for Telent's Network Services, including troubleshooting, diagnosis, and data analysis.
  2. Communicate clearly (verbally and in writing), ensuring updates are understandable to all technical levels.
  3. Support change management processes and adhere to organizational policies, prioritizing incidents based on impact.
  4. Take ownership of incidents to ensure customer satisfaction, including case management and data collection.
  5. Notify customers and third parties of issues, outages, and remediation updates.
  6. Develop trend and root cause analyses to support incident resolution.
  7. Review performance reports to identify trends and improve problem management.
  8. Collaborate with the Service Desk to ensure timely updates and adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
Key Requirements:
  • Relevant NOC Engineering experience or similar environment experience.
  • Experience as a Service Desk Analyst/Engineer or troubleshooting background is acceptable.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+ (preferred), Network+ (desirable), CCNA or JNCIA-JUNOS (desirable), CCT / CCST Cisco (desirable), ITF+ (desirable).
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to prioritize and work well in a team.
