Job summary

First Bus Scotstoun Depot in Glasgow is seeking a PSV/HGV Nightshift Mechanic to diagnose faults, repair vehicles, and perform servicing. A Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance is required, with experience on HGV/PSV preferred.

Valid UK driving licence and strong attention to detail are essential. The role is nightshift with 37+ hours per week, offering a £2,000 joining bonus and a pay rate of £24.07 per hour, with a scheduled pay review in 2027.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience on HGV or PSV is beneficial.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs on PSV/HGV fleets.
• Complete scheduled servicing and routine inspections.
• Respond to on‑road breakdowns and recoveries.
• Document work accurately in line with regulations and health and safety.
