Job summary

First Bus Glasgow Scotstoun Depot is seeking a PSV/HGV Mechanic with NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in vehicle maintenance. The role offers dayshift, 37 hours a week, with overtime and a £2,000 joining bonus.

DBS checks and UK work rights apply, with PPE provided and training opportunities. The ideal candidate will have PSV/HGV experience or a strong light vehicle background, a flexible, multi-skilled approach, and a driving license (PCV desirable).

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred.
• Flexible approach to work with ability to multi-skill.
• UK driving license holder; PCV license desirable and support to achieve if not held.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices where applicable.
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required.
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify defects or after repair.
