Job summary

First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot is seeking a NVQ/SVQ Level 3 qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for the night shift. You’ll diagnose faults, perform repairs and servicing, and respond to breakdowns to keep buses safe and reliable.

You’ll need a Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance, HGV/PSV experience, a valid UK driving licence, and a keen eye for detail. The role runs 8pm–6am, four nights a week, with a £2,000 joining bonus and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance & repair required.
• Experience working on HGV/PSV vehicles preferred.
• UK driving licence valid.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical issues on PSV/HGV.
• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to on-road breakdowns and recoveries as needed.
• Road test vehicles and ensure accurate documentation.
• Maintain safety and compliance with regulations.
