Job summary

First Bus Glasgow Scotstoun Depot is seeking a PSV/HGV Mechanic with NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair. The role welcomes ex-Forces engineers and others with relevant experience, offering upskilling, career progression, and a competitive hourly rate with a £2,000 joining bonus.

Role requires flexible multi-skill capability, a UK driving license (PCV desirability), and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred
• Do you have a flexible approach to work with theability to multi skill?
• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license isdesirable however we can help you achieve this

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Diagnosevehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry outvehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-roadvehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
• Carry outvehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair
