Job summary

Volvo Trucks in Hamilton, Scotland is seeking an HGV Technician to join our workshop team. You will perform repairs to Volvo standards, assist with diagnostics, service customer vehicles, and conduct road tests if you hold an HGV licence.

You will work on a rotating shift with an early finish on Fridays, from 21:00 to 07:00, Monday to Friday, and participate in a benefits package including a pension scheme, health plan, and life insurance. A sign-on bonus is available along with other incentives.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance is required.
• Previous experience on HGVs or an apprenticeship in the HGV industry is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly.
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
• Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles (if you hold an HGV license).
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately.
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported.
• Keep workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean and well maintained.
• Support the development of trainees and apprentices.

Education

A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance

Experience on HGVs or completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry

• Previous experience working on HGV’s or have you completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry
