Job summary

Volvo Trucks is seeking a skilled HGV Technician for Perth. You will perform regular MOT inspections, fault finding, and repairs on a range of trucks, following Volvo procedures. The role offers competitive pay with overtime, a signing bonus, and a structured shift pattern.

You will join a team dedicated to safe, sustainable transport and supporting apprentices in their development. This position requires hands-on technical capability and a commitment to high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Experience working on HGVs or completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry.
• Proven ability to conduct regular MOT service inspections and fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks.
• Perform repairs to a high standard following Volvo procedures.
• Assist in fault diagnosis and service customer vehicles.
• Complete service sheets and paperwork accurately.
• Road test vehicles when required (HGV licence preferred).
• Assist with roadside breakdowns and maintain workshop facilities.

Dayshift Hours Mon - Frid

Mon - Thurs 8.00am - 4.30pm

Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm

Backshift Hours Mon - Friday

Mon - Thurs 2.30pm - 11.00pm

You Will Have

• A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGV’s or have you completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry

What You'll Do

• Our Technicians are responsible carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks. Fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes brakes, suspension systems etc.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process
• Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license)
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
• Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
• Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices
