Job summary

AB Volvo in Inverness is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to perform MOT service inspections, fault diagnosis, and repairs on a range of trucks. You will ensure repairs meet Volvo procedures, assist with diagnostics, and service customer vehicles with thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Experience on HGVs or completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular MOT service inspections on trucks from various manufacturers.
• Fault finding and repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems, etc.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures.
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
• Service customer vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles if you hold an HGV licence.
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.

You will have:

• A Level 3 NVQor equivalent inHeavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGV’s or have you completed anapprenticeshipin the HGV industry

What you will do:

• Our Technicians are responsible carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks. Fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes brakes, suspension systems etc.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process
• Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license)
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
• Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
• Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices
