Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking skilled HGV technicians in the UK to perform MOT inspections, diagnose faults and carry out high-standard repairs across a wide range of trucks. You will work on Volvo procedures, maintain paperwork, and support trainee development.

The role offers overtime, generous benefits, and a signing bonus package, with potential progression within Volvo Trucks and related brands.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance is required.
• Experience working on HGVs or completion of an HGV apprenticeship is highly valued.
• Strong fault diagnosis and servicing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of trucks and perform fault finding and repairs.
• Carry out repairs to high standards following Volvo procedures, safely and responsively.
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process and service customer vehicles, completing service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when qualified (HGV license) and assist with roadside breakdowns as needed.
• Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately for each job.
• Keep workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained.
• Support the development of trainees and apprentices.

Dayshift:

Mon-Thur: 07.00 - 15.35

Friday: 07.00 - 14.50

Backshift:

Mon-Thurs: 13.00 - 21.50

Friday: 12.30 - 19.00

Sat @ overtime 07.00 - 13.00 (after backshift week)

You will have

• A Level 3 NVQor equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGV’s or have you completed an apprenticeshipin the HGV industry

What you'll do

• Our Technicians are responsible carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks. Fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes brakes, suspension systems etc.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process
• Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license)
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
• Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
• Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices
