Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Night Youth Support Worker in Windsor to join their school. You will build trusted relationships with children and young adults aged 5–19, providing physical and emotional support in educational and residential settings.

You will work within a team to implement curricula, support learning, and ensure a safe, caring environment. A Level 3 Diploma in Childcare or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Relevant knowledge and experience of special needs environment.
• Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection and/or DOLs procedures.
• Experience managing a range of approaches to de-escalating challenging behaviours.
• Experience in support/care roles.
• Experience in a multi-cultural, inclusive setting.
• Knowledge of basic First Aid is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Waking Day Curriculum to meet current needs and support growth.
• Support and facilitate learning and independence.
• Contribute to planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes and plans.
• Maintain a safe, homely environment reflecting ages and interests.
• Assist the Education team in creating a conducive learning environment.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with parents, social workers and professionals.
• Adhere to policies, procedures and Aurora values; challenge poor behaviour.
• Undertake other duties as reasonably requested.
