Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Shift Manager (Nights) in Canterbury to lead a fast-paced operation, ensuring service levels, productivity targets and customer expectations are consistently achieved.

You will take full responsibility for day-to-day warehouse activities including goods-in and goods-out, maintaining safety and compliance, and driving continuous improvements while developing teams to meet KPIs and budget targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' warehouse management experience.
• Experience within FMCG, food production, manufacturing, produce, or a similarly fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop teams.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, KPIs, and budget control.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience implementing operational improvements and delivering against business plans.
• Strong English and Maths skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Comfortable operating in a hands-on management role.

Responsibilities

• Leading and motivating warehouse teams to achieve operational excellence.
• Managing staffing levels and shift schedules in line with business demands.
• Monitoring warehouse performance, productivity, and labour costs.
• Producing and analysing operational and financial reports.
• Ensuring all health & safety, HACCP, and compliance standards are maintained.
• Overseeing warehouse equipment, MHE, racking inspections, and maintenance.
• Managing stock flow, dispatch accuracy, and on-time deliveries.
• Driving continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Building strong relationships across departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Promoting a positive team culture focused on performance, accountability, and development.
