Job summary

Teen Support Services Ltd in Nottingham is seeking a committed night wake support worker to provide high quality care for children in a residential placement. You will stay awake overnight to ensure safety, support routines, personal care, and emotional wellbeing in line with care plans.

The role requires a Diploma/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and experience with young people. Driving licence preferred. We offer a supportive team, regular supervision, and opportunities for CPD.

Qualifications

• Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with young people with behavioural difficulties or in residential settings is advantageous.
• GCSE or equivalent (preferred).
• NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (preferred).
• Driving Licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remain awake and alert overnight to ensure safety and emotional wellbeing of children.
• Support routines including hygiene, diet, and homework where applicable.
• Assist with bed time and waking routines.
• Support emotional wellbeing in line with risk assessments and care plans.
• Help maintain cleanliness of rooms and assist with cleaning if required.
• Attend medical appointments and meetings with professionals.
• Support personal care when necessary and help achieve independence.
• Assist with activity planners and shift paperwork to high standard.
• Complete night checks (fire, medication counts, COSHH) and handover documents.
• Build positive working relationships with professionals and safeguard the young people.
