Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is seeking a Transport Supervisor to lead 24/7 operations at our site. You will manage Transport Supervisors and support the Transport Manager, ensuring costs align with budget and forecasts while maintaining service levels.

The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday nights 22:00–06:00. You will plan resources, manage driver rosters, monitor Kronos clocking, and drive continuous improvement and a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience within a busy transport environment.
• Good commercial knowledge of transport operations including closed book/shared user environment.
• Planning and organising skills with a high level of numeracy.
• Leadership and motivational qualities with ability to develop a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication at all levels.
• National and International CPC qualification is desirable.
• Attend Culina group training courses to gain knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Depot Transport staff to execute Traffic plans to enable delivery of products to customers within service levels.
• Reduce non contract maintenance and damage spends through vehicle passport monitoring.
• Ensure fleet is on the road and declared to enable Planning Team to plan resources.
• Plan core drivers and shift patterns, including agency drivers, daily and weekly.
• Manage holiday allocations to ensure sufficient resource for customer requirements.
• Motivate and develop the team through engagement, training and development plans.
• Ensure staff are trained and have correct equipment.
• Manage incidents/accidents with investigations and the EOA system.
• Monitor and approve drivers clocking on/off via Kronos.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and site procedures.
• Arrange annual MOTs and service intervals with paperwork.
• Attend Monthly Customer review meetings in the absence of the Transport Manager.
• Support service improvements with customers and other areas of the business.
• Generate ideas for staff and operational changes to drive improvement.
• Maintain a secure and safe environment for staff.
• Conduct monthly site audits ensuring processes follow Culina Group policy.
