Job summary

Dumbrock House, run by CrossReach, seeks a Night Support Practitioner to help create a safe, nurturing overnight environment for young people. You will work independently, using judgment and a calm approach to meet individual needs and support their development.

The role is initially six months, with potential extensions within Dumbrock or other CrossReach services based on vacancies. Training and development are provided to strengthen skills and confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience in care and/or education and supporting children.
• Understanding of attachment-informed practice.
• Strong communication and IT skills.
• Full manual driving licence.
• Willingness to work toward SSSC registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide reassurance and emotional support to children and young people.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming and structured environment overnight.
• Respond calmly to incidents with a therapeutic approach.
• Support individual care plans and keep accurate records.
• Encourage independence and daily routines where needed.
• Prepare for transition to day shift and ensure continuity of care.
