Rossie Young People's Trust is seeking Youth Care Practitioners to provide care and support to young people in a safe, nurturing environment on a rolling 37-hour week rota. Training includes CALM and a five-day induction with mentorship and a Duty Manager handover before shifts begin.

Onboarding involves shadowing, learning about security, and ongoing professional development. The role requires resilience, teamwork, and a commitment to safeguarding and education support.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the needs of young people
• Awareness of Employer and Employee Code of Conduct as set down by the SSSC
• Understanding of trauma and child development factors impacting young people
• Possess or working towards HNC in Social Care and/or SVQ in Care at Level 3
• SVQ3 – Children and Young People
• HNC (preferably in Social Care)
• Leisure/Recreational Skills
• Risk Assessment & needs analysis
• Formulate and implement care plans

Responsabilités

• Provide care and support to young people in a safe and nurturing environment
• Meet physical, emotional, social, health and educational needs
• Establish safe and containing relationships with young people
• Understand each young person's history, needs, risk assessments and care plan
• Participate in risk assessments and placement plans with positive risk-taking
• Participate alongside young people in activities and maintain a clean living environment
• Uphold safety protocols and de-escalate conflicts
• Champion the rights of young people and respect privacy and culture
• Support growth, education attendance and learning
