Job summary

iBC Healthcare is seeking a Female Waking Night Support Worker to provide one-to-one care for an adult with learning disabilities in Chesterfield. You will follow an individualized support plan within a PBS framework, helping build routines, independence and confidence in home and community.

You’ll work nights, delivering compassionate, person-centered support with dignity and respect, while coordinating with family and healthcare professionals as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities
• Understanding of PBS and trauma-informed practice
• Strong de-escalation, communication and observational skills
• A calm, patient, non-reactive approach under pressure
• Consistency and strong professional boundaries
• Experience with personal care where required
• Belief in the person’s right to make independent choices

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred, therapeutic support tailored to the individual’s needs, preferences and goals
• Promote independence and meaningful choice in daily life
• Support with personal care while maintaining dignity and respect
• Support medication administration in line with policy
• Assist daily living tasks, budgeting and appointments to build skills
• Encourage community access and social inclusion aligned with interests
• Follow support, risk and PBS plans consistently
• Recognise distress and respond with de-escalation to minimise restrictive practice
• Complete accurate documentation and records
• Collaborate with family, healthcare professionals and the wider team
