Job summary

IBC Healthcare is seeking a Female Support Worker to provide one-to-one support to an adult with learning disabilities in Lincoln. The role operates within a PBS framework to promote routine, confidence and independence at home and in the community.

You will work from an individualised plan to help the person access community activities, develop decision-making, and navigate anxiety with a trauma-informed, non-reactive approach, while maintaining dignity and family collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or behaviours of concern.
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
• Strong de-escalation and communication skills.
• Calm, patient, trauma-informed approach.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and act with dignity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred, therapeutic support tailored to the individual's needs, preferences and goals.
• Promote independence and meaningful choice in all aspects of daily life.
• Support with personal care where required, always maintaining dignity and respect.
• Support medication administration in line with policy.
• Support daily living tasks, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, appointments as opportunities to build skills and confidence.
• Actively encourage community access and social inclusion, tailored to the person's interests.
• Follow the support plan, risk assessment and positive behaviour support plan consistently.
• Recognise early signs of distress and respond using de-escalation techniques, minimising restrictive practice.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and records.
• Work collaboratively with family members, healthcare professionals, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
