Job summary

IBC Healthcare is seeking a Weekend Waking Night Support Worker to provide one-to-one care for an adult with learning disabilities in Mansfield (NG19). The role focuses on therapeutic, person-centred support to build routine, confidence and independence in home and community.

This weekend-based 30-hour contract runs Fri–Sun with waking nights. You’ll work with family and the wider care team to promote dignity, safety and choice, using Positive Behaviour Support and trauma-informed approaches.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities or autism.
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma-informed practice.
• Excellent de-escalation, communication and observation abilities.
• Calm, patient, non-reactive approach under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred, therapeutic support tailored to individual needs.
• Promote independence and meaningful daily life choices.
• Support personal care with dignity and respect.
• Assist with medication administration as per policy.
• Support daily living tasks and skill-building activities.
• Encourage community access and social inclusion.
