Job summary

IBC Healthcare is seeking a Female Support Worker to provide one-to-one support to an adult with learning disabilities in Mansfield. The role emphasizes therapeutic, person-centred care, helping the person build routine, confidence, and independence at home and in the community.

You'll work with a calm, trauma-informed approach, supporting daily living tasks, personal care, and community access while maintaining dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or behaviours of concern.
• Understanding of PBS and trauma-informed practice.
• Strong de-escalation, communication and observational skills.
• Calm, patient, non-reactive approach under pressure.
• Consistency and professional boundaries; values predictability.
• Experience with personal care where required.
• Belief in the person’s right to make own choices and live independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred, therapeutic support tailored to needs and goals.
• Promote independence and meaningful daily choices.
• Support with personal care maintaining dignity and respect.
• Assist with medication administration per policy.
• Support daily living tasks and build skills for independence.
• Encourage community access and social inclusion because of interests.
• Follow support plans, risk assessments, and positive behaviour support consistently.
• Record accurate, timely documentation and records.
• Collaborate with family, healthcare professionals, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
