Job summary

iBC Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Female Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for an adult with learning disabilities in Mansfield. The role focuses on therapeutic, person-centred care to promote routine, confidence and independence in the home and community.

You will work within a PBS framework, help with daily living tasks, promote social inclusion and maintain accurate records, with a commitment to dignity and choice for the person we support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or behaviours of concern.
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma-informed practice.
• Strong de-escalation, communication and observational skills.
• A calm, patient, non-reactive approach and able to stay steady under pressure.
• Consistency and strong professional boundaries; this person benefits from predictability.
• Experience with personal care where required.
• A genuine belief in the person's right to make their own choices and live as independently as possible.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred, therapeutic support tailored to the individual's needs, preferences and goals.
• Promote independence and meaningful choice in all aspects of daily life.
• Support with personal care where required, always maintaining dignity and respect.
• Support medication administration in line with policy.
• Support daily living tasks, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, appointments as opportunities to build skills and confidence, not just complete tasks.
• Actively encourage community access and social inclusion, tailored to the person's interests.
• Follow the support plan, risk assessment and positive behaviour support plan consistently.
• Recognise early signs of distress and respond using de-escalation techniques, minimising restrictive practice.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and records.
• Work collaboratively with family members, healthcare professionals, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
