Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a Night Support Practitioner to provide calm, consistent care during the night for children and young people in a small, homely residential setting in Scotland. You will be integrated into the wider team, with a focus on safety, observation, and supportive care.

The role requires a calm, patient approach, the ability to respond to a range of situations at night, and a full driving licence. PVG and SSSC registration are required or commitments to achieve them.

Qualifications

• Calm, patient and able to respond confidently to night-time situations.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• PVG Scheme membership and SSSC registration (or commitment to achieve).
• UK entitlement to work for all prospective employees.

Responsibilities

• Support children to settle at bedtime and respond to night-time needs.
• Provide reassurance and comfort during anxiety or distress.
• Monitor wellbeing and ensure a safe, secure environment.
• Accurately recording observations and handover information.
• Work with the wider team to ensure consistency of care.
